A Vision of your Future
Happy New Year!
Well here we are at the start of a new year and a blank canvas full of potential. So what do you hope to achieve this year?
January is normally when we make resolutions to get fit, lose weight, give up smoking and so on. However, all too often we've broken them before the end of the month.
This year, how about imagining yourself at the end of 2007 having achieved everything you wanted to. Where are you? What are you doing? How do you feel? Make the scene real for you - describe your location, who you are with, what you can see, hear, feel and taste - and write it down.
Now that you've put yourself where you want to be at the end of this year - what do you need to do to get there? Work back to the beginning of the year and start to determine what needs to happen and when. Write this down and you've got your goals for the year.
In my vision, I'm standing on a balcony with a glass of champagne in my hand, watching an amazing fireworks display with a very special someone. I'm taking a well earned rest from my successful business and have left my assistant in charge whilst I'm away.
Now, my vision needs more work to make it come alive for me, so if I look like I'm daydreaming you'll know I'm on my balcony, working out what steps I need to take to make it really happen.
One of those will be getting organised for the first Ladies that Lunch of 2007 on 23rd January. In the morning I'll be learning how to laugh spontaneously at the 'Life Life Laughing!' workshop and reducing my stress levels and boosting my immune system in the process. Then I'll be listening to Hilary Farmer talk about the gift of dyslexia. I hope you can join me.
I wish you a very happy and prosperous 2007.
