January 2009
New Year New You
Happy New Year! This is the time when gym membership soars, resolutions are made (and often broken very quickly) and a large percentage of the population decide to get fit and lose weight. So how about if you were able to keep fit, have fun and be adventurous at the same time? Take a look at the Comment column (bottom right) and become a 'Wild Woman'.
It's also a good time to get out networking. You may meet someone that you can collaborate with that benefits both of your businesses, find a new market or direction for your business or get advice and inspiration. Oxfordshire has plenty of good networking breakfasts, lunches and dinners - get out of your comfort zone and try a new one. There are a number listed here and on Business Link or ask a fellow networker for group they would recommend.
I invite you to come along to Ladies that Lunch in January (on Tuesday 27th) and 'Energise Yourself and Your Business'. The last few months have seen some turbulent changes. If you are not functioning at your peak it will be mirrored in the health of your business - and you can’t afford to be running on low energy levels in this current climate!
Our speaker, Jackie Cross from Life in Balance, helps senior professionals and organisations improve their personal performance. Health, Energy and Motivation are the key principles of all of the programmes. Jackie will share some simple techniques that you can apply immediately, helping you to become more energetic, alert and motivated.
I look forward to welcoming you. You can book online or contact me direct on lesley@lesleyreader.co.uk.

Steer Your Career
Have you been made redundant or are you facing redundancy? Do you want to change direction and set up your own business? (Or do you know someone that is?) Are you worried that your skills aren’t transferable or marketable?
Then come along to a Steer Your Career workshop (on either Saturday 10th January or Saturday 7th February from 10-4pm at the Bell in Charlbury for just £99+VAT) and benefit from the experience of two career change specialists, Rachel Brushfield and myself (Lesley Reader).
Here's how Claire Johnson, one of the participants benefited:
"The information you shared with me during the Career Workshop was invaluable and gave me the springboard I needed to re-think my values and core beliefs, plus have the courage to open a few doors into the unknown! Since then, a whole series of events have happened, which really have made a difference. Steer Your Career was the catalyst to get me going again!"
Rachel Brushfield runs Energise, based in Charlbury and specialises in career strategy and talent management. As well as Ladies that Lunch and Chippy Lippys, Lesley runs regular sessions for people looking to change career direction and has worked with people facing redundancy.
Don’t leave your next career move to chance – book on the Steer Your Career Workshop and take control of your future. Email info@liberateyourtalent.com , call 0845 2255010 to book your place, or for more information, click here.
