Reflection and Celebration

With all the debate about the current financial climate, long established businesses falling by the wayside and general doom and gloom, it's very tempting to crawl under the duvet and stay there!

However, with the end of the year fast approaching, it is important to celebrate our successes and achievements.  For those of us running small businesses, it's all too easy to move onto the next project without taking time to reflect.

So ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What's been your biggest achievement this year?
  2. What was your greatest challenge?
  3. What was the most fun you had?
  4. What have you learned about yourself?
  5. What one thing would you do differently?

I'd love to hear some of your answers.

Also, I invite you to celebrate, reflect and network in the beautiful surroundings of Blenheim Palace by coming along to Ladies that Lunch in December (on Tuesday 16th). This is another Open Event welcoming present and past members, other networking groups and visitors who've enjoyed the Ladies that Lunch way of networking.  Come and enjoy a delicious 2-course meal and be inspired by the work of Maggie's Centre in Oxford -  a place anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help. See below for further details.

I look forward to welcoming you along. You can book online or contact me direct on lesley@lesleyreader.co.ukOr come along to one of the Steer your Career workshops that I'm running with Rachel Brushfield (see Comment column).

Finally I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you all the best for the coming festive season.  May you take the time to relax, enjoy and have fun!

Ladies that Lunch at Blenheim

on Tuesday 16th December

Following on from a great networking event at Blenheim Palace in the summer, Ladies that Lunch is returning, this time for a festive lunch.

Welcoming visitors from other networking groups (both men and women), Ladies that Lunch members past and present and guests who want to experience all that Ladies that Lunch and Blenheim Palace has to offer, this is our event of the winter.

Taking place in the Marlborough Room (a private room not open to the public), you'll be welcomed for a 2-course lunch with coffee in this luxurious setting.  If you've yet to experience the majesty of Blenheim Palace, then this is a great opportunity.  Come and make some great contacts from a wide range of business people, as well as meeting old friends and making some new ones. Don’t miss this opportunity for networking in a wonderful location.

With charity in mind for Christmas, our speaker is Sandy Briscoe from Maggie's Centre in Oxford - a place anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help.  Sandy is the Community Fundraiser working to raise £3 Million for a purpose built (and inspirational) centre at the Churchill Hospital.

The cost of the lunch is £35 (£30 for members). To book your place click on www.LadiesThatLunch.co.uk  and go to events or contact Lesley Reader direct on 07725 655320, email lesley@lesleyreader.co.uk.
