Sharing Information

Something I've noticed since I started running networking groups is how many people contact me to pass information onto my members.  They range from events going on, new schemes and websites set up, to television producers looking for participants for documentaries.

For example, an on-line service has just launched to match up UK business angels with entrepreneurs seeking investment. Angels Den aims to compliment the services offered by existing business angel groups by facilitating deals with a value of up to £500,000. Entrepreneurs who have had the ‘divine inspiration’ (a business idea) and need some ‘divine intervention’ (investment) can log onto www.angelsden.co.uk  and submit their idea to the cream of the UK’s business angels.

Then there's Business Scene, a fast growing website which, apart from showcasing networking events, provides a platform for SMEs to make contact with potential new suppliers and customers; hosts articles and downloads and, by independent assessment, is worth about five hundred pounds in search engine optimisation just by having a business profile.  Readers of this newsletter can have a free year's membership worth £60 by logging onto the website, going to registration, adding a business profile and entering the code oxford12 in the payment section, which will bypass the payment. For further information contact Simon Garrett on 01993 840364 or email him.

Two Ladies that Lunch members, Louise Rosborough and Peronel Barnes are exhibiting at Heavenly Bodies Day Spa as part of Artweeks 2007 and another, Kate Mercer is selling off stock from her accessories company, Tickled Too.  See the News section of the website for details about these and other workshops events in May and June.

Finally, the other columns in this newsletter feature details about a charity stroll in the moonlight and two events being run by Marlborough School Enterprise Centre and Boult Wade Tennant respectively.

If you have information you want to share, then let me know so that I can feature it in a future Ladies that Lunch newsletter.

Later this month, Ladies that Lunch meets on Tuesday 22nd, when our speaker is Dr Tracey Marr from Communities in Business, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes enterprise and self-employment through the delivery of business education and training. Do join us at the Oxford Centre for some good networking.
