December 2006
Looking back
I am finding it hard to believe it is December already and that 2006 is almost over.
This month is full of celebrations and parties, but it's also a great opportunity to reflect on the year.
I looked back at the goals and targets I set last December to see how they've measured up with the reality.
One of those goals was to set up my own networking group. In March I started Chippy Lippys, based in Chipping Norton where I live. Now, I have over 50 people on the mailing list and regular attendance by 15 dynamic and diverse women.
Then in June, I found myself running another networking group. When the opportunity to take over Ladies that Lunch came along, I said yes and it's proving a rewarding experience. (So thank you again Tracey.)
Over the last couple of months I've met with almost all of the members individually, to find out more about them and help them get the most from their Ladies that Lunch membership.
The members run, or are part of, a wide range of companies and what connects them is their passion and enthusiasm for what they do. Now that I know them better, I'm working to help them develop further, both personally and professionally.
Ladies that Lunch is a great networking group, so come along and see for yourself. Our December meeting is just over a week away on the 12th. We're having a raffle, a review of 2006, the chance to buy Christmas presents and have some festive fun. It is open to members, guests, past members, and anyone who would like a further LTL experience.
Also, see details below of Live Life Laughing! - an event to start off the New Year on a very positive note.
May I wish you all a very happy festive season and a prosperous 2007.

Live Life Laughing!
23rd January 2007 from 9am-12pm
Would you like to start off 2007 learning to reconnect with your childlike playfulness and have a positive impact on both your health and your business as a result?
Then the Oxford Centre at 333 Banbury Road, Oxford is the place to come on Tuesday 23rd January 2007 for 'Live Life Laughing!' - during which you will learn proven laughter techniques to help reduce your stress levels, increase your creativity and enable better communication and relationships.
Join Akasha Lonsdale and John Gloster-Smith of The Laughter School, who are both certified laughter teachers. Laughter training has many benefits for individuals and organisations alike. Plus it's been shown to be good for business. Four Systems, an IT company in Copenhagen, Denmark, has reported a 40% increase in sales as a result of laughter training.
Did you know that children laugh between 300-400 times a day, whilst adults average just 10-15? In 'Live Life Laughing!' you'll be shown how to laugh for no good reason (so no jokes or funny stories - just natural spontaneous laughter).
For further information and to book your place go to the events section of this newsletter and click on Live Life Laughing! or call 0845 3301078. The cost is £45+VAT (£35+VAT for Ladies that Lunch members). |
