Following a very successful Ladies at Lunch at Blenheim in June, we're returning for our December meeting. This is an Open Event where previous members, visitors who have attended meetings before, members from other networking groups and current members can network in the sumptuous surroundings of the Marlborough Room at Blenheim Palace over a delicious 2-course meal.
With charity in mind for Christmas, our speaker is Sandy Briscoe from Maggie’s Centre in Oxford - a place anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help. Sandy is the Community Fundraiser working to raise £3Million for a purpose built (and inspirational) centre at the Churchill Hospital. Maggie's Centre has a personal connection to Blenheim as the Duke of Marlborough became one of its patrons earlier this year.
More than a million people are served by the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and its cancer services, and there are 4,000 new diagnosis of cancers here a year. Maggie's Centre wants anyone affected by cancer to have this unique, uplifting Maggie’s Centre, and in the meantime is already open to welcome people to the temporary Centre where they offer their well-established and pioneering programme of cancer support.
